My advice for those just starting this job is not to think too far ahead. That will overwhelm you. Break things down into bite-sized, easier-to-digest things. Your project might seem overwhelming, or working with a professor scary, but understand everyone has started from zero here, and at the end there are plenty of fellows with amazing projects at the fair. Trust your skills and trust your ability to adjust. The worst thing you can do is psych yourself out or put things on a pedestal and cause you to avoid looking for help and asking questions. Learning on the fly is not about being perfect it’s about improving and not being afraid to let other know when you do not know or need help.
